Case Study
APC on a H2 section of a CCR unit
The prime objective of the continuous catalytic reforming (CCR) unit is to convert low octane, paraffin-rich naphtha to a high-octane liquid product rich in aromatics, i.e., reformate. The implementation of the APC controller in the Hydrogen section reduced the manual intervention of panel operators significantly with tight control of H2 header pressure.
Learn in this case study:
- How a small APC controller can lead to stabilization of hydrogen header pressure and minimize H2 flaring with an annual saving of 1.1 M US$.
